I watch the blurring of the world as I slowly climb my way out of the bare earth. My head of leaves change in time with the seasons of hot and cold, dry and wet. I provide food and shelter. I mix and shift the elements of the soil and sky. I am at the epicentre of the swirling chaos of the lives of others. Smaller, faster creatures life their short lives around my base, on my roots and among my branches, and yet I go on. I am testimony to what has come before. I am a testimony to the events of now. I am a testimony for those of tomorrow.
